Leon Bailey Green, founder of the Online Fashion Agency and connoisseur of all things fashionable on the web brings us another insight into the world of blogging with an interview with The Greenwich Phantom about his favourite places to shop and his favourite ‘mysterious’ pieces from Oli.
The Greenwich Phantom is an anonymous blogger, updating and providing information on South East London’s glittering gem. It brings together residents, visitors and businesses in Greenwich, collectively providing an up-to-date synopsis of the village.

The mysterious Greenwich Phantom...
I confess I tend to keep myself to myself. Who I am isn’t really the point of this blog – besides, the cloak and dagger nature (well, ok, cloak and tricorn) of it all is very entertaining.
It seems that you are approachable, despite the secrecy, can you tell us an interesting fact you have been sent from readers?
I quite enjoyed a recent discussion about what appears to be several elderly religious ladies who wander round Greenwich at 6.00am every morning ringing bells and cleaning the pavement.
Which blogs do you follow?
I read mainly other Greenwich and London blogs – my favourite is IanVisits but I guess there are about 15 in my RSS feed including Faded London and Ornamental Passions.
What do you think to the explosion of blogging?
I welcome it – it’s the last great meritocracy. Everyone has something to contribute, there’s room for all. Besides I know what goes into writing a blog – I admire and applaud anyone who can keep it up.
What makes a good blog?
I’d say a tight remit – not wandering off-topic too much. People like to read ‘a voice’.
And a bad one?
I get very tired of ‘blogs’ that are just rehashes of press releases – or even – goodness – straight transcriptions of press releases. I like people to have an opinion, even if I don’t agree with them – hell – ESPECIALLY if I don’t agree with them.
Finally, what 3 items are you coveting on the Oli website this month, bearing in mind the lack of cloaks?!
Well, these D and G sunglasses will be perfect for sunny spring mornings in Greenwich Park, and oh! Look at how big they are!
